Labuan Field Trip 10-15 nov 2012

Fieldwork at Labuan is a requirement for  Reservoir Geology and Sequence Stratigraphy Course.

Note: This section will only show pictures of outcrop in Labuan. MSc. Student can download for their assignment.

I never thought this fieldwork is so exhausted and painful, but yet very meaningful to me. Thank you to all my classmate and adik2 (fulltime student), our lecturer Dr. Ralph Kugler, Dr. Meor Hakif, Dr. Ng Tham Fat and Geology Department driver, Mr. Herman (?).

Location#1: Kampung Ganggarak.

Day#1 10th November at Kg. Gangarak. Listen to briefing.. Look at the beautiful outcrop.

What a variety of background experience... physicist, engineer, geologist all listening carefully... but yet...miracle still happen when we don't study before the field trip and not listen carefully...

Under the hot sun, get prepared to learn geology... measure the thickness, get bedding strike and dip. Plus scan through the outcrop..get the geological feeling... touch it, lick it (if you dare!), smell it and dream  on it!!! Get ready with Jacob stick, lense, geological compass, log sheets, camera...not forgotten human brain!
